What is Food Safety ?

“Food Safety” is a scientific concept under the standards of each time period. At SYUN, to ensure “Food Safety” in keeping with current scientific standard, our Japanese experts carefully inspect pesticide, fertilizer, water and sanitation in use and give instruction on the appropriate dosage and time. We see this as a way in which the quality and safety of our produce can be guaranteed. In addition, to ensure and evaluate these guidelines objectively and accurately, we also inspect pesticide residual and quality of water. This is also our effort to improve food safety of SYUN products.

1. Instruction of Japanese Experts

To produce safe and fresh vegetables of high quality, our experts with over 20 years of experience in agriculture give instruction how to seed, fertilize, irrigate and drain off or adjust the amount of water.

The experts not only works but also retransmit the techniques for farmers. We hope that farmers can produce high quality, safe and fresh agricultural productions by themselves in the future.

2. Inspection of pesticide residual

Certain types of pesticide come in handy when in comes to preventing a lot of pestilent insects which may infect vegetable and fruit plants. These chemicals will evaporate into the air, be swept away by the rain and decrease gradually by time. At time of harvest, a small amount of pesticide will remain in the products; this is called pesticide residual. The amount of pesticide residual has to comply to lawful standards to protect consumers’ health. The method to determine whether the producers conform to these standards is the inspection of pesticide residual.

SYUN’s Japanese experts will control the use of pesticides in the fields where we provide technical guidance and come to mutual agreement with the producers before use. To ensure that the chemicals are being used appropriately with accurate amount, we send our sample for inspection regularly at The Viet Nam Soils And Fertilizers Research Institute.

Note:

We do not inspect all types of vegetable.

We inspect to ensure that the pesticides are being used appropriately with accurate amount.

3. Preliminarily operation and packaging

Vegetables, which are planted in the fields under our experts’ guidance and instructions and by farmers who have signed contract with SYUN, are brought to SYUN’s workshop for the preliminary process. The Vegetables are washed with water to remove dirt and other substances that have adhered to them so that they can be used at home as they are.

※ Some fruits and vegetables are not washed to maintain their quality.

The vegetables are packaged after we have checked that unnecessary parts, foreign matters are removed and the produce is washed properly.
